Team Tournament Registration is Open


When: January 10th

Where: Belleville West High School

Cost: $15 if registered online, $20 on-site


This is a 4-round 5-player team-versus-team tournament, using a similar format as the Illinois State Championship. The games are 45 minutes with a 5-second delay (G/45;d5) .


There are three team divisions:

  • High School (grades 9-12)

  • 8th and Under (grades K-8)

  • 5th and Under (grades K-5)


A team can field four players, but they will forfeit the 5th board match against a team with 5 players.


Schools may enter more than one team. There is also an Individual Section for extra players of for schools that cannot field a full team.


This is the fifth Gateway Grand Prix tournament of the 2025-26 Gateway Chess Season.

Online registration will remain open until 7 PM Thursday, January 8th. Saturday walk-in registration on-site will be available.
