Chris Bollinger Memorial Tournament Registration is Open

When: January 24th

Where: Wydown Middle School

Cost: $15 if registered online, $20 on-site

This is a combined Team and Individual tournament where players compete and are paired as individuals, and the four highest individual scores for a team are added together to form a team score. Players are on the same team if they attend the same school and are entered in the same team division. Teams must have a minimum of two players to be eligible for team awards.

There are six team divisions:

  • High School (grades 9-12)

  • 9th and Under (grades K-9)

  • 8th and Under (grades K-8)

  • 6th and Under (grades K-6)

  • 5th and Under (grades K-5)

  • 3rd and Under (grades K-3)

The tournament will be divided into six sections, one for each team division. The High School, K-9, and K-8 sections will play 4 rounds with the time control at 45 minutes plus a 5-second delay. The K-6, K-5, and K-3 sections will play 5 rounds with the time control at 30 minutes plus a 5-second delay.

Sections using the same time control may be combined for competitive purposes, but team awards will still be per team division.

Schools may enter teams in multiple team divisions.

This is the sixth Gateway Grand Prix tournament of the 2025-26 Gateway Chess Season.

See the tournament details page for more information.

Online registration will remain open until 7 PM Thursday, January 22nd. Saturday walk-in registration on-site will be available.
