Gateway Grand Prix Updates
The results from the Class Tournament have now been included in the Gateway Grand Prix standings. The changes to the uschess.org site with how tournament rating reports were published required changes to the program used to calculate Gateway Grand Prix results. These changes are now complete. Blitz Tournament Registration is Open
Online Registration  for the Gateway Blitz Tournament  is now open. When: December 13th Where: Vianney High School Cost: $15 if registered online, $20 on-site The tournament is 5 double rounds, 10 games in total. Games are Blitz rated, 5 minutes with a 2-second delay. Players are divided into three sections High School (grades 9-12) Middle School (grades 6-8) Elementary School (grades K-5) Team divisions are the same as the sections: HS, 6-8, and K-5. Belleville East HS Wins the Gateway Class Tournament
Yesterday, Gateway Chess organized the 2025/2026 Gateway Class Tournament , hosted by Parkway Southwest Middle School. Belleville East HS posted their third straight victory with 14.5 points out of a possible 16. Bellevillle West HS finished second with 13 points, and De Smet HS and Jackson HS tied for third with 12 points each with De Smet taking the third place award on tiebreaks. Just a reminder that the Gateway Fall Class Tournament is tomorrow at Parkway Southwest Middle School. Online registration is now closed, but Saturday walk-in registration as always is available from 8 to 8:30 AM. If you registered online, you can double-check your entry at https://www.gatewaychess.org/registrations . Belleville East HS Wins the Gateway Grade Tournament
Yesterday, Gateway Chess organized the Gateway Grade Tournament , hosted by De Smet High School. Posting their second straight victory, Belleville East HS easily outdistanced the field, scoring 13.5 points out of a possible 16. The battle for second place was close, with Lift For Life Academy prevailing with 10 points. Mt. Vernon HS and Herrin HS tied for third with 9.5 points.
