The Gateway Chess 2025-2026 Yearbook is now available for download.

Celebrate the Gateway Chess season at the league Banquet! ​ When: Wednesday, April 8th, 6:00 PM Where: Royale Orleans, 2801 Telegraph Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125 Cost: $20 per person ​​ You can register and prepay online ​ If you would prefer to pay at the door, please email banquet@gatewaychess.org and let us know how many will be attending. We cannot guarantee space for walk-ins.

Ladue HS has won their 6th straight Missouri High School Championship. The complete results, including all the champions and national tournament qualifiers have now been posted to the Results page.

The Ladue HS A team completed an undefeated season and claimed Ladue's 8th consecutive Gateway Chess High School League Championship. All the league results are found at the Gateway Chess League Results Page . The Junior League is also complete. The results are posted to the Junior League page. Also, the Gateway Grand Prix is also complete. The final results are posted to the Gateway Grand Prix Results page.

Online Pre-Registration  for the Missouri State Championships is now open. When: March 7th Where: Battle High School, Columbia, Missouri Cost: $25 if pre-registered online, $30 on-site The High School Division (grades 9-12) is run as a board tournament with four sections, Boards 1 through 4. Teams place their top four players on the four boards respectively, with the remaining team members placed at the coach's discretion. Each board is run as a separate independent section

The Grand Prix points for the Bollinger Tournament are now correct for all grades. There is still a problem with the points for players who played in the High School (4 round) sections in the Board Tournament. This will be fixed soon. When: February 21st Where: Crossroads College Prep Cost: $15 if registered online, $20 on-site This tournament is fast-paced (six rounds, 25-minute plus 5-second delay time control) where all players compete in a single combined section. On February 7th, Gateway Chess organized the 2026 Gatewway Board Tournament , hosted by Normansy High School. In the High School Section Section, Vianney HS took 1st place with a score of 9.0, easily outdistancing 2ns place Crossroads. Yesterday, Gateway Chess organized the 2026 Gateway Team Tournament , hosted by Belleville West HS, with 160 players participating. In the Team Section, Herrin HS and the B team from Belleville East HS tied with a perfect 4.0 points, with Herrin winning the tiebreaker to take home the first place trophy. Belleville East has still tied of first or won outright every tournament this year, but that streak only continued due to the heroics of their B team, who managed to keep t

Registration is now open for the Gateway Junior Chess League , which will be held at Wydown Middle School starting this Thursday, January 15th, and continuing January 29th, February 5, 12, and 19th, with a makeup date of February 26th. Note, we are skipping January 22nd. There is a one-time entry fee of $15 for all five weeks of the tournament. The tournament flier for the Missouri State Championship has been posted. The tournament is being held on March 7th, 2006. This is earlier in the year than it has been held the past few years. The official host is the Missouri Chess Association, with the assistance of the Gateway Chess League. This tournament is only for scholastic players who attend a Missouri school, or scholastic Missouri players who are home-schooled. Registration will open soon after the Action Tourname

The results from the Blitz Tournament have now been included in the Gateway Grand Prix standings. The changes to the uschess.org site also affected the result reports for blitz tournaments. The Grand Prix program needed some small modifications. These changes are now complete.

Yesterday, Gateway Chess organized the 2025 Gateway Blitx Tournament , hosted by St. John Vianney HS, with 138 players participating. Belleville East HS posted their fourth straight victory with 21 points out of a possible 30. CBC HS finished second with 19 points.
