Yesterday, Gateway Chess organized the 2025/2026 Gateway Class Tournament , hosted by Parkway Southwest Middle School. Belleville East HS posted their third straight victory with 14.5 points out of a possible 16. Bellevillle West HS finished second with 13 points, and De Smet HS and Jackson HS tied for third with 12 points each with De Smet taking the third place award on tiebreaks. Just a reminder that the Gateway Fall Class Tournament is tomorrow at Parkway Southwest Middle School. Online registration is now closed, but Saturday walk-in registration as always is available from 8 to 8:30 AM. Posting their second straight victory, Belleville East HS easily outdistanced the field, scoring 13.5 points out of a possible 16.
