The Gateway Grade Tournament Registration is Open

Online Registration for the Gateway Grade Tournament is now open.

When: October 31st, 2016

Where: STEAM Academy at McClure South-Berkeley High School

Cost: $15 if registered online, $20 on-site

The second tournament of the 2026-27 Gateway Chess season is the Grade Tournament. This will be a short tournament where players will only complete against other players in the same grade. We will be done early enough to not interfere with trick-or-treating.

All team scores are based on the top 4 performing players for the team regardless of section. There are six team divisions:

• High School (grades 9-12)

• 9th and Under (grades K-9)

• 8th and Under (grades K-8)

• 6th and Under (grades K-6)

• 5th and Under (grades K-5)

• 3rd and Under (grades K-3)

All teams must have a minimum of two players to be eligible for team awards.

Individual awards are awarded for each grade.

This the second Gateway Grand Prix tournament of the 2026-27 Gateway Chess Season.

See the tournament details page for more information.

Online registration will remain open until 7 PM Thursday, October 29th. Saturday walk-in registration on-site will be available.
