The Missouri State Championships Pre-Registration is Open

When: March 7th

Where: Battle High School, Columbia, Missouri

Cost: $25 if pre-registered online, $30 on-site

The High School Division (grades 9-12) is run as a board tournament with four sections, Boards 1 through 4. Teams place their top four players on the four boards respectively, with the remaining team members placed at the coach's discretion. Each board is run as a separate independent section. The team scores are the sum of the best score from each board section

There are five team divisions for younger players, which are run as separate independent sections.

  • 9th and Under (grades K-9)

  • 8th and Under (grades K-8)

  • 6th and Under (grades K-6)

  • 5th and Under (grades K-5)

  • 3rd and Under (grades K-3)

All team scores in the younger divisions are based on the top 4 scores in that division for the team.

All teams must have a minimum of two players in a team division to be eligible for team awards.

Individual awards are per section.

The individual winner of the 8th and Under Section will be invited to be Missouri's representative at the Barber National Tournament of Middle School State Champions. Only players in grades 6-8 are eligible to be invited.

The individual winner of the 5th and Under Section will be invited to be Missouri's representative at the Rockefeller National Tournament of Elementary School State Champions. Only players in grades 4-6 are eligible to be invited.

New for 2026! The individual winner of the 3th and Under Section will be invited to be Missouri's representative at the Ashley National Tournament of K-3 School State Champions. Only players in grades K-3 are eligible to be invited.

See the tournament details page for more information.
