Vianney HS wins the 2026 Chris Bollinger Memorial

On January 31st, Gateway Chess organized the 2026 Chris Bollinger Memorial, hosted by Clayton HS.


In the High School Section Section, Vianney HS took 1st place with a score of 9.0, easily outdistancing 2ns place Crossroads.


In the younger team divisions, Wydown MS won the 8th and Under Division, Maplewood-Richmond Hts. ES won the 6th and Under Division, Captain ES won the 5th and Under Division, and New City School won the 3rd and Under Division.


The Individual champions were:

  • High School: Ayush Prabhat from Ft. Zumwalt West HS (clear win)

  • 9th and Under: Oliver Gorislavsky from Parkway West HS (clear win)

  • 8th and Under: Eamon Ewing from Wydoen MS (clear win)

  • 6th and Under: Harjas Singh from Crestview MS (on tiebreaks)

  • 5th and Under: Sritanvi Suddala from Stanton ES (on tiebreaks)

  • 3rd and Under: Lucas Liu from Meramec ES (Clear win)


The Gateway Grand Prix results have been updated. However, there is currently a problem with the scores from the Bollinger Memorial for grades 8-12 being slightly too low. A notice will be posted when the results have been fixed.
