GATEWAY CHESS LEAGUE

St. Louis's non-profit home for independent interscholastic chess since 1965.

Come out and play!

Mission:

Our mission is to provide a fun and welcoming environment for young people to play chess, and to organize and host high-quality scholastic tournaments throughout the St. Louis region. We believe that chess can have a transformative impact on young people, teaching valuable life skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and sportsmanship. We are committed to promoting the game of chess as a powerful tool for personal growth and community building, and to fostering a supportive and inclusive community of chess players of all skill levels and backgrounds.
